Hello Kitty Zombie Bento

I’m not sure what it is with the Hello Kitty Zombie combination, but since they have already appeared together as cakes and tattoos, I guess it really should be no surprise to find a Hello Kitty zombie bento:

It’s really discouraging when stuff like this shows up in my email because as soon as my wife sees it, she immediately thinks that it is her duty as a Hello Kitty fanatic to give it a try. Unfortunately, that means that it ends up in front of me — and while it may be good if I was on a diet or felt like sleeping in the Hello Kitty sleeping bag, that is usually not the case.

So of course my mind starts racing for ideas on why she shouldn’t make it or why I won’t be able to consume it. So I immediately begin to wonder if there is any chance that I can convince her that there is a law outlawing the consumption of Hello Kitty zombies on Halloween? — yep, I know. Pretty pathetic. But it just goes to show how the mind starts to work when you live in Hello Kitty Hell…

Sent in by Linda (via justbento) who really should have to eat Hello Kitty zombie bentos for the rest of the year for thinking that sending something like this to me could ever be a good idea.

I think her head is just rice 🙁 What a jip!

Any Who, I think the carrot pumpkins are super cute! I like the little mean looking one to the right of her head.. It kinda looks like it’s going to eat her 🙂

  2. Nice try but I am not impressed. When it comes to Bentos I prefer a traditional presentation. This doesn’t not look appetizing to me.

  3. So in the ‘spirit’ of things this isn’t that bad 🙂
    It’s actually kind of cute!
I’d give it points for creativity!
Look on the brightside Mr. HKH.. at least you can eat her!
(and yes, it would be funny if there was some gelatinous matter inside the rice the makes up her head)

  5. @Catherine, the white eyes make her a zombie, bento is a traditional Japanese box lunch that usually consists of rice, pickled veggies and some sort of meat or fish beautifully arranged in a compartment type of container. Ain’t I smart? =(^.^)=

  6. You have my sympathies, Mr HKH, if you had to consume something like this. Perhaps if you and Mrs KHK had a child or pet you could avoid the brunt of this torture…

  7. I don’t mind the HK stuff and the pumpkins are sorta cute but the whole thing does not look the least bit appetizing.
@ Catherine – sushi, I know you love it!

  8. how can you tel it’s a Hello Kitty Zombie? I can’t really tell the difference between it and normal Hello Kitty. Which, come to think of it, says something, doesn’t it?
