Hello Kitty Steering Wheel

My wife has already pimped out our car with a Hello Kitty steering wheel cover which I assumed was as bad as the steering wheel area was going to get, but that was before the Hello Kitty steering wheel mod landed in my email box:

Hello Kitty steering wheel mod

My wife took one look at the mod and squealed in delight, “I want one of those for our car!” I, on the other hand, immediately thought about what would happen if I ever got into a car wreck with that steering wheel. Either it would penetrate into your chest doing a reverse Alien act, but still having “He died with Hello Kitty in his heart” written across the Hello Kitty tombstone, or a permanent Hello Kitty bruise splattered across my chest. Either way, it wouldn’t be a positive addition to Hello Kitty Hell…

Sent in by a Pauline (via zzkang’s photoblog) who should have to endure unbearable pain and suffering as punishment for ever thinking that sending this to me and putting the idea into my wife’s head could ever be a good idea…

  1. To kitteh: Thank god I wasn’t the only one to notice that. I thought it was only my mind that worked in *ahem* “mysterious” ways.
On another note, perhaps it’s the angle in which the photo was taken but that steering wheel looks decidedly evil. It actually looks abit like one of those clowns you might find in a horror movie. Seriously, look at it.

  2. I’m not seeing any room for an airbag there. Just how is this thing safe at all? And that pink shift knob… O.o
    That has to be distracting.

  3. You really have a sick mind. Why are you so paranoid that Hello Kitty is out to kill you? Hello Kitty is about love and happiness. Thinking that Hello Kitty is bad at all is ridiculous and anyone that could believe that can’t be trusted.

Being able to hold Hello Kitty while you drive would give you the confidence and support to be a better driver. Are you saying that you don’t support good driving habits? Do you want everyone to be a bad driver? Your arguments never make sense and that is why nobody can trust anything that you write!

  5. As darlene finally goes from the “merely unhinged “to the “positively dangerous”!!!…

As far as I can see there is no way you could hold that “steering wheel” properly, or turn it smoothly. It goes against the grain to ask for another photo of something so “official HK product” looking, but I’d like to confirm that the rim is actually several inches wide either side of the “eyeholes”, and that it has “ears” and a “bow” interupting the top semi-circle.

  6. xDDDDD I busted out laughing when I read the part about how I should suffer. (And yeah, this is the same Pauline who sent it in. Unless another Pauline just so happened to send in the same photo on the same website to the same blog. Which would be amusing.) I didn’t even think of what your wife might think of it. Good luck with that.
