Hello Kitty Colon

If you just read the title of this post, you probably had your heart skip a beat. While it’s not quite that bad and is safe for work, it’s still definitely Hello Kitty Hellish. Not that Hello Kitty really needs anything to go with the Hello Kitty guts, but since the Japanese like to brand their snacks with names that probably wouldn’t sell well in the US, you have things like Hello Kitty Collon:

Hello Kitty Collon

Hello Kitty food, plain and simple, is one of the worst aspects of Hello Kitty Hell. Even knowing where the end result leads, there is still something completely creepy about having the evil feline making her way through my system. It doesn’t make it any prettier when the name of the Hello Kitty food is the same as where it is going.

Of course, my wife has a completely different perspective on it. Here view is that anything Hello Kitty that goes inside you helps your body absorbs happiness (don’t even ask — it’s one of those Hello Kitty fanatic things that only Hello Kitty fanatics seem to understand). Just reading that last sentence should ensure you have one pretty spectacular day no matter how bad things may have seemed a few minutes ago for the simple reason that you don’t live in Hello Kitty Hell…

Sent in by Maria who should have to survive on nothing but these for the rest of her life for thinking it could ever be a good idea to send me a photo of this…

The questions is what is it. We not talking about Hello Kitt chitlins*.

    * chitlins are pig intestines, my father is form the deep south and cooks them up all the time.

  2. I to wasn’t quite sure of exactly what was inside this HK wrapper… But after Mantelli being genius enough to google it for us I have to say HK candy is very appropriate, no? These are the kind of products I would expect her to be on, unlike some of the previous things, like you know tampons lol

  3. I stand corrected.
What I fell is more disturbing is MR. HKH intentional misspelling of a mis-translation. This is a new low. Perhaps hello kitty hell is only in MR HKH mind.

  4. Wait… what is it? other than an ominous yellow package with the word “Collon” (sic) on it? Are you supposed to eat the package?

  5. I’d eat this in a heartbeat. Glico makes good food. I just bought Pocky and Pretz today! (Although they were non-kittified versions. Canada is not cool.)

  6. I have no idea what people see in Pocky. It tastes fine, but its too expensive compared to other snacks. I’d take a bag of Buttfinger bars or Kit Kats any day instead of a similar sized box of Pocky. They’re cheaper and better.

  7. OK, this is by far one of the most entertaining blogs I’ve read! I come here and check it out when I’m feeling down and want a little chuckle. 🙂 (Sorry it’s at your expense!) One of my favorites was the post you made awhile back about Hello Kitty spam, and then you got more Hello Kitty spam in your comments! Fun times.

I’ve given your blog one of my “top 7 blog awards” if you want to check it out (//dube.wordpress.com/2008/09/08/blog-award/). And no, this is not spam. 🙂 I genuinely think your blog deserves an even better award than my tiny one!

  9. I will not touch Haggis, Chitlins, Scrapple or Spam…
So I cannot add to that conversation…

But Ice Cream is good… except in large portions…
Went to a Friendly’s Restaurant and Ice Cream Store last night because someone dared a coworker to eat the “Crowd Pleaser”- that’s a 12 scoop, 6 topping sundae that weighs approx 2 1/2 lbs.
She got about 11 1/2 of the scoops and about 1/2 the toppings down before getting voilently ill…
I guess that’s another way to achieve the desired effect, right 😉

  10. Yesterday, I posted a message about chitterlins (basically, yes I’d try them), haggis (basically I didn’t think it had blood in it and it doesn’t) and black pudding, aka blood pudding (basically it does). However, something seems to have eaten it!! 😉

Ah yes! Soon to be followed by HK diet pills and a whole series of workout videos staring HK and friends lol

I thought they already made HK diet pills?

Perhaps 🙂 I have yet to see them and think it’s rude for a little a fat cat to be telling us that we need to loose weight 😉

  14. Wait, It says Glico on it….They made Pocky…..*lightbulb* GO GLICO! You made something so that you can eat Hello kitty AND it comes out the other end!! *high fives*

    …Yes, I’m a VERY sick child. xD

    @mhkitty06,
Yes I think that’s the purpose. xD

    @Jason,
Where they sell it here, they sell them for atleast $3.00 at the local supermarket. (I think.) I bought 2 boxes. ^_^

  15. SPAM is an acronym of “SPiced hAM”, well just about, and certainly used to be a registered trademark of Hormel Foods. According to Wikipedia, the trademark name was created in 1937, but the product is older. The age of the product actually explains the “why canned meat?” question, since that was the only form of long-term preservation in common usage until the 1960s.

MKH, your co-worker probably froze her stomach trying to eat that mass of ice-cream. If you want a more informed opinion, ask Dr Rob on “Musings of a Distractable Mind”.

I have it on tape.. it took him 11 minutes…

  17. Did that friend get sick?
How in the world did your first pal eat ice cream again.
I’m ruined and I don’t even know you or that said friend.

My buddy who ate the Oreos was green for about 30 minutes… then was fine… he actually had a midnight snack later on!

  19. Dudes, Collon is a name. As in Collon Creevey (It’s actually Collin, but it can be spelled differently)
And I happened to love Hello Kitty so screw you!
Then again I shouldn’t be on this web-site

  20. Collon is pretty good, actually.

It’s a wafer shaped like a tube with cream in the center. Not sure what flavor cream is in the kitty collon, but the creamy collon (yes we bought it just because it sounded naughty) is vanilla flavored.

  21. I love COLLON!!!!
I have had many different flavors of it, but never HK.
I live in America, and I am not afraid to try Japanese candy because its much better than any American candy, less sugar and more yumminess.
Collon, specifically is one of my favorites, and I am not really sure what to compare it to in the U.S….its kind of like those cheap ass “creme filled wafers” that we have in vanilla chocolate and strawberry flavors, only it is shaped, yes, like a colon, but its a yummy tube of “wafer” with the “cream” inside…I wonder what flavor the HK kind is…
Collon has the best packaging ever, and I bet you the box that this inner pack came out of was super hk cute.

I just found this site, and as a HK “fanatic” of sorts…its more sanrio in general for me, I LOVE the fact that it is “seemingly” written by a man, and I get the humour, I am not offended because I find the strangest HK products to be the best. thats the ingenious nature of her marketing!

to the owner of this page: where can I find your wife’s “shop”? and are you Americans living in japan? and how and why? I wish there was a guestbook for this, but hopefully someone will dig up my comment and answer….
